Unemployed? Start a business with S.E.P
 The Self-Employment Program is designed for Albertans who are unemployed and in need of financial support while they start their own business. If you are receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, you will continue to receive benefits and may also be eligible for additional assistance for training and living expenses to participate in the program. If you are EI eligible or receiving Alberta Works Income Support, you may also be eligible for assistance. Normally, assistance for training and living costs will be available for up to 6 months. Students are also eligible for the Self-Employment Program and can receive living allowances while they develop their small business operation.
